With decade and a half of professional experience, Nick’s love of plants started long before he graduated college. As a kid growing up in rural Vermont, he was fortunate enough to have access to a horticulture class as early as middle school. It continued to be his favorite class through high school so when it was time to think about college, he knew where he was headed.
Initially, Nick pursued a landscape design degree when he first attended SUNY (State University of New York) Cobleskill. After a year of school and spending a summer working at a nursery on the New Hampshire seacoast he decided to still pursue his studies in design but put a larger focus on plant health. He finished his degree with an internship at a landscape company just outside Seattle, WA at which point he did what most college graduates do…moved to Utah to ski. It was there he met the love of his life and soon after moved to Montana.
For the past decade and a half, Nick has been working in Gallatin County landscaping. Starting his own business, the Plant Care Company in 2019. He can often be heard talking about plants as if they are human and have different personalities. And plant identification during hikes is a given. When he’s not caring for autotrophs, Nick can be found skiing, golfing, or exploring the surrounding mountains with his family.
